Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery In Illinois: 1998 and 1994.

The Illinois Health Care Cost Containment Council published 2 cardiac surgery reports:

Coronary Bypass Surgery In Illinois: 1998 and 1994;

The reports provide the following information on each hospital performing coronary artery bypass graft surgery.

• Number of times the surgery was done (number of hospital discharges by Diagnosis Related Group);
  

• Each hospital's average charge for the procedure (this does not include physicians' charges); and 
  

• Each hospital's average  length of stay for the procedure.

The reports contain no information about individual hospital death rates from the procedure and does not rate hospitals. The reports contain no information about individual physicians.

Effective July 1, 2002, the Illinois Health Care Cost Containment Council was abolished and replaced by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
