Distribution of Cases Among Doctors

NOTE: Only 2002 data includes both inpatient and outpatient cases.

In 2002, 25% of the total of the inpatient and outpatient cases were performed by a doctor who did 1 or fewer cases. In 1999, 25% of the inpatient cases were performed by a doctor who did 2 or fewer inpatient cases. In 1997, 25% of the inpatient cases were performed by a doctor who  did 1 inpatient case.
In
2002, 50% of the total of the inpatient and outpatient cases were performed by a doctor who did 5 or fewer  cases. In 1999, 50% of the inpatient cases were performed by a doctor who did 4 or fewer inpatient cases. In 1997, 50% of the inpatient cases were performed by a doctor who did 4 or fewer inpatient cases.
In
2002, 75% of the total of the inpatient and outpatient cases were performed by a doctor who did 16 or fewer cases. In 1999, 75% of the inpatient cases were performed by a doctor who did 9 or fewer inpatient cases. In 1997, 75% of the inpatient cases were performed by a doctor who did 8 or fewer inpatient cases.
In
2002, the maximum number of inpatient and outpatient cases done by an individual doctor was 404. In 1999, the maximum number of inpatient cases done by an individual doctor was 136. In 1997. the maximum number of inpatient cases done by an individual doctor  was 174.
