Distribution of Cases Among Hospitals

In 2003, 25% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 7 or fewer inpatient cases. In 2002, 25% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 8 or fewer inpatient cases. In 2001, 25% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 7 or fewer inpatient cases. In 1999, 25% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 11 or fewer inpatient cases. In 1997, 25% were done at a hospital with 14 or fewer. In 1996, 25% were done at a hospital with 13 or fewer. 

In 2003, 50% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 17 or fewer inpatient cases. In 2002, 50% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 18 or fewer inpatient cases. In 2001, 50% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 18 or fewer inpatient cases.In 1999, 50% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 23 or fewer inpatient cases. In 1997, 50% were done at a hospital with 24 or fewer. In 1996, 50% were done at a hospital with 23 or fewer. 

In 2003, 75% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 41 or fewer inpatient cases. In 2002, 75% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 46 or fewer inpatient cases. In 2001, 75% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 43 or fewer inpatient cases.In 1999, 75% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 54 or fewer inpatient cases. In 1997, 75% were done at a hospital with 50 or fewer. In 1996, 75% were done at a hospital with 51 or fewer. 

In 2003, the maximum number of inpatient cases done at an individual hospital  was 693. In 2002, the maximum number of inpatient cases done at an individual hospital  was 835. In 2001, the maximum number of cases done at an individual hospital  was 809. The maximum for 1999 was 731. The maximum for 1997 was 870. The maximum for 1996 was 866.
