Distribution of Cases Among Hospitals

 In 2003, 25% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 29 or fewer inpatient cases. In 2000, 25% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 34 or fewer inpatient cases. In 1998, 25% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 33 or fewer inpatient cases. In 1997, 25% were done at a hospital with 32 or fewer cases. In 1996, 25% were done at a hospital with 29 or fewer cases. 

In
2003, 50% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 65 or fewer inpatient cases. In 2000, 50% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 62 or fewer inpatient cases. In 1998, 50% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 62 or fewer inpatient cases. In 1997, 50% were done at a hospital with 57 or fewer cases. In 1996, 50% were done at a hospital with 60 or fewer cases.

In
2003, 75% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 118 or fewer inpatient cases. In 2000, 75% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 120 or fewer inpatient cases. In 1998, 75% of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 114 or fewer inpatient cases. In 1997, 75% were done at a hospital with 121 or fewer cases. In 1996, 75% were done at a hospital with 109 or fewer cases.

In
2003, the maximum number of cases done at an individual hospital was 481. In 2000, the maximum number of cases done at an individual hospital was 479. In 1998, the maximum number of cases done at an individual hospital  was 397. In 1997, the maximum  was 421. The maximum in 1996 was 367.
